  • The head gasket is the most expensive car breakdown.
Between €800 and €2,000 at the garage. What makes it so dangerous is that it starts with small signs that are easy to ignore: white smoke, coolant level dropping, engine running a little hotter. This detector spots them before it’s too late.
  • Visual result in minutes: if there is a combustion gas leak in the cooling system, the liquid changes from blue to yellow or green. No ambiguity. No technical interpretation.
  • No dismantling or tools required:
you only need access to the coolant expansion tank. Any car owner can do it at home.
  • Complete 50-test kit:
universal adapter (suitable for tanks from 25 to 55 mm) and reactive fluid for up to 50 tests. A kit that lasts for years.
  • €19.90 for detection. Between €800 and €2,000 for the repair if you’re too late. Detecting it now makes the difference.

When should you use this detector?

Use it if your car has any of these symptoms: white or bluish smoke from the exhaust, the engine runs hotter than usual, the coolant level drops for no clear reason, you see foam or bubbles in the expansion tank, or the oil looks milky.
It is also useful as a preventive check on cars with over 150,000 km, before a long trip, or before buying a second-hand petrol or diesel car.

EXTENDED DESCRIPTION

Why the head gasket is the breakdown you most need to detect early

The cylinder head gasket seals the engine's combustion chamber. When it starts to fail, combustion gases leak into the cooling system. At first, the symptoms are subtle—the water level drops slightly, the engine takes a little longer to warm up, there's some smoke when cold. Easy to ignore.

The problem is that if it's ignored, the damage progresses. And what could have been fixed by just changing the gasket (€400-600) turns into damage to the engine block: between €1,500 and €2,000. Or the car becoming completely unusable.

This detector identifies the leak at its earliest stage—when the damage is still repairable and the cost is manageable.

How it works:

  • Insert the adapter into the coolant expansion tank.
  • The blue reactive fluid comes into contact with the air inside the tank.
  • If combustion gases are present, the fluid changes color: yellow or green.
  • If it does not change color, the head gasket is fine.
What is included:
  • Universal adapter for expansion tank (25–55 mm)
  • Bottle of reactive fluid for up to 50 tests
Important note: this product detects the fault but does not repair it. It is not a head gasket sealer or repair product.

USE INSTRUCTIONS

How to do the test (5–10 minutes)

  • Let the engine cool down or stay warm. Do not open the tank when the engine is hot.
  • Open the cap of the coolant expansion tank — the translucent container with minimum and maximum marks.
  • Insert the adapter into the opening. Adjust it so it stays firmly in place.
  • Add a few drops of the reactive fluid into the adapter.
  • Start the engine and let it reach operating temperature (5–10 minutes).
  • Check the color: blue = no leaks. Yellow or green = there are combustion gases in the cooling circuit. Take the car to a garage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this product repair the head gasket?

No. It only detects whether there is a gas leak in the cooling system — the sign that the head gasket may be failing. If the result is positive, you need to take the car to a garage for repair.

Which cars is it compatible with?

With any petrol or diesel car that has an accessible coolant expansion tank, regardless of make or model.

How many tests can I do with one kit?

The included fluid allows for up to 50 tests. The adapter is permanent and reusable.

Can the fluid damage the engine?

No. The test is non-invasive — the reactive fluid does not come into contact with the engine coolant.

Can someone with no mechanical knowledge do it?

Yes. You only need to locate the expansion tank, which is accessible without dismantling. If you’re not sure where it is in your car, write to us.

The result is positive. What should I do now?

Take the car to a garage as soon as possible and inform them of the test result. Detecting it at this stage can significantly reduce the repair cost.
